Data security

How we protect your data.

Client financial and tax information is among the most sensitive data a business holds. We treat it that way, following the FTC Safeguards Rule and IRS guidance for tax professionals.

Written security plan

We maintain a written information security plan covering how client data is stored, accessed, transmitted and disposed of, and we review it regularly.

Encryption and access control

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on secure, access-controlled systems. Only staff who need client information to do their work can access it.

Secure document exchange

Sensitive documents are shared through a secure portal or encrypted upload link, never by regular email or website forms.

Multi-factor authentication

Accounts that hold client data are protected with strong passwords and multi-factor authentication where available.

Trusted providers

We use established accounting, payroll and storage platforms with their own security controls, and we limit what each provider can access.
